Ohhhh Youtubers. After repeatedly seeing the users of YouTube make fools of themselves i decided to make of list of the types of people on YouTube who for their sake and ours, should just.....quit.
The "I find that referencing my age is relevant and profound" YouTube commenter.
Oh you know the type, go to any video that features a song made anytime from 1989 and before and you will most like see a comment like "I love this song and I'm 13!". I am so confused as to why this little tidbit of information is necessary. Am I supposed to read that comment and think "oh my gosh! stop the presses! a 13 year old likes Stairway To Heaven...so amazing. Wrong not amazing, not interesting, not relevant.
The "I'm going to give my entire 3 paragraph life story that relates to this song" YouTube commenter
These types of YouTube commentators usually pop up during a depressing "you broke my heart I can't go on" song, or sappy little love ballads, or "you're dead and I miss you" songs. For these videos people find it necessary to relay to the cyber world the details of their sad pathetic lives. I mean I really don't care (and i pity the people who do) if Cher singing If I Could Turn Back Time takes you back to the time when you were in love with this guy you met at your local laundry mat, and you dated for 7 strong months but then some crazy circumstances and miscommunication tore you two apart and if they just happen to be reading this comment to "please take me back babe I'll do anything we we're perfect for each other".
The "how dare this band attempt to cover a song before getting my approval" YouTube commenter.
Ok first off I would like to say I am a lover of all things music. I have very eclectic and random taste. If I don't like something it's probably because that band or artist sucks (haha but for real though). What these angry pretentious music listeners/commenters don't take into consideration is imitation is the highest form of flattery. Oh yeah and they are not the music police, just because a song does not please you does not mean that song "should have never been covered". We get it..you worship radiohead and no one should even go near any of their songs....i would like you to shut up now.
The "OMG this band/song is terrible and is ruining my life as we speak" commenters
I just have one thing to say....if you hate the song why on earth are you taking the time to not only listen to the song, but leave a comment and get into long drawn out internet arguments over something dumb.
The "OMG this band is amazing and they can do nothing wrong and anyone who doesn't like this song will be murdered"
I would like to dedicate this section to the beliebers, the "leave britney aloners", the gleetards and all of the fanatic fans of the virtual world. Yes it is possible for your precious idol to put out an occasional bad song. No you do not have to go on a murderous shooting spree to protect the name of your one true love. Seriously people take a chill pill.
and last but not least the "angry at the world/too pansy to throw down in real life" commenters
why do people find it necessary to battle on the internet? How does a video of children catching fireflies have the ability to cause people to get more violent (well virtually violent...with words and all the good stuff) than a nazi concentration camp? I don't understand how this solves anything, do people really have nothing else to do but sit in front of their computers typing out comments that would make even Hitler a bit uncomfortable.
Don't get me wrong i would pay to see these angry nerds put in a room and told to fight to the death, the only catch being they can't use their keyboards to do it.
In Conclusion...before you go embarrassing yourself in computerland lets take into consideration some wise words from sara bareilles "You’ve got opinions, man. We’re all entitled to ‘em, but I never asked".
